DRUG SCREENING:
Students must undergo a pre-clinical drug screening. A positive test or refusal will result in immediate termination from the program. Per federal regulations, medical marijuana remains a drug listed in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. It remains unacceptable for any safety‐sensitive employee subject to drug testing to hold a marijuana license.

BACKGROUND CHECK:
Under the policies of National Accreditation, an OSBI background check on each student is performed. If you have felonies you may not be eligible for this program. 

VACCINATIONS:
Although Central Tech does not discriminate against students who do or do not receive the Covid vaccine, the vaccine is mandated by most clinical sites. The few sites that do not require the Covid vaccine require a medical or religious exemption. 

Certification: Upon successfully completion of these programs, students are eligible to apply and test for state licensure through Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) to work as an unarmed or armed security guard or private investigator. The Security Guard license issued by CLEET is a 3-year renewable license. There are additional fees for state licensing.

Unarmed Security Guard

Phase I:

  • How to interpret the Oklahoma Security Act
  • Administer first aid
  • Operate fire extinguishers
  • Write field notes and reports
  • Interpret legal powers

Phase II:

  • Public relations
  • Communications
  • Performing fixed post duties
  • Patrolling
  • Investigating security incidents
  • Terrorism awareness

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • No record of a felony conviction
  • United States citizenship or an alien legally residing in the U.S.

Private Investigator

Phase III:

  • Understanding responsibilities to clients
  • Interpreting laws of private investigations
  • Complying with the Fair Credit Act
  • Conducting investigations and surveillance
  • Locating and communicating information

Prerequisite:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • No record of a felony conviction
  • United States citizenship or an alien legally residing in the U.S.
  • Must have taken and passed the state exam for Unarmed Security Guard Phase I and II.

Bail Enforcer

Phase V:

Bail Enforcement agents recover defendants who have failed to appear in court after undertaking a bail bond contract.
